What’s Happening in Dallas: December 22-24

Recap of all events in around the Dallas area this weekend.

With the last weekend before Christmas upon us, it’s a good time to get out and enjoy some of the festivities around the city before another holiday season is behind us.
If you’re still out and about doing your shopping, NorthPark decorations and festive atmosphere make it must see on the shopping trails. The Trains at NorthPark are still in action, and the Scrooge Puppet show is scheduled to go on through Christmas Eve.
Of course the Arboretum’s 12 Days of Christmas is still on display and a great way to spend your day with the family.
I have to mention ICE! at Gaylord Texan as a must see before the end of the year. Adult tickets are $21.99 and children’s tickets are $12.99.
The attraction includes two million pounds of colorful ice sculptures kept at 9 degrees, hand-carved by 40 artisans from Harbin, China. The kids are sure to enjoy the five two-story tall ice slides. The exhibit depicts the classic story of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Conclude your experience with the majesty of a full Nativity in stunning, crystal clear ice.
If you’re looking for an ice skating experience, Panther Island in Ft. Worth is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. Mon – Sat. and opening at 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets are $12 for admission and skate rental.
Fair Park has become a Holiday Wonder through Jan. 7, the fairgrounds filled with Christmas-themed Chinese lanterns, illuminated for the holidays. Santa’s scheduled to be on site, along with an impressively sized Christmas tree and glowing swans in the Fair Park pond.
Activities include a “snowball throw,” a slide, food, and a holiday market. Tickets are $12 for kids, $20 for adults.
