Former CIA Director John Brennan unleashed fire and fury at President Trump only moments after the firing of Andrew McCabe was announced.
Early Saturday morning, McCabe tweeted, “When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America…America will triumph over you.”
McCabe also took some shots at Trump on his way out, releasing as statement: “It is part of this Administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and the efforts of the Special Counsel (Russia collusion) investigation. For the last year and a half, my family and I have been the targets of an unrelenting assault on our reputation and my service to this country.”
He continued, “The President’s tweets have amplified and exacerbated it all. He called for my firing. He called for me to be stripped of my pension after more than 20 years of service.”
This is just another chapter in Trump’s feud with current and former leadership of our intelligence agencies.
I have been a bit critical of Trump as of late, but he got this one right 100 percent.
After the House Intelligence Committee released its finding of no collusion between Russia and the Trump Campaign, you could sense that something was about to happen.
As it has become more evident there was some level of impropriety going on at the highest levels of the FBI, McCabe deserved to be fired.
One of my questions was if this would be a firing for headlines or it would actually mean something.
Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!

When word that McCabe’s firing took place within days of him becoming eligible for a lifetime pension, I could not have been happier.
My hope is that this will send a true wake up call throughout the government ranks that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.
I don’t care how long he served this country. If he leaked information to the media, he deserves to lose his pension.
American history is loaded with government employees who served for decades but were later convicted of wrongdoing. Aldrich Ames comes to mind.
Had they not been found out until later in their careers, should they have received lifetime benefits rather than being fired, arrested, and tossed in jail?
Of course not! McCabe is not different. While he may not have sold secrets to the Russians, his conduct was definitely not what is expected from our top agency officials. And he does not deserve to live out his golden years on the American taxpayers dime.
