Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe apparently does not like the president very much and is not afraid to tell the entire country what he would do if Trump ever got in his “space.”
While making an appearance on “Hardball” with Chris Matthews, McAuliffe said, “You would have to pick him up off the floor.”
Matthews was like a child that just found an extra quarter to spend at the candy store when McAuliffe made the comments.
He wanted his viewers to be sure what McAuliffe was saying, so he asked, “You mean you’d deck him?”
McAuliffe responded, “Listen, if this guy got in my space, you wanna get in my space, I’ve always said Chris, you punch me, I’m going to punch back twice as hard. And it wouldn’t be that hard to do it, but you know, this guy thinks he could intimidate everybody. It’s disgraceful. It’s embarrassing.”
And just to be sure everyone understood his threat to the president, McAuliffe added, “If he ever came over and leaned on me and got in my space, that would be the last time Donald Trump ever did that. I promise you that.”
McAuliffe is on his way out the door, as Governor-elect Northam takes over on Saturday, so this little showdown between these two might have to wait a bit before it comes to fruition, but possibly not as long as some think.
Along with the Mayor of Chicago, McAuliffe’s name is at the top of the list of Dems vying for the chance to unseat Trump in the 2020 election.
While I would love to see this showdown, it is just a bit bothersome yet another Democrat is physically threatening the president of the United States.
What is even more remarkable is there is ZERO outrage of McAuliffe’s comments, quite the opposite actually.
From what I have seen so far, liberals are actually cheering him on hoping he comes toe-to-toe with Trump and a brawl breaks out.
So far, Trump has not responded to the governor’s comments, but I would imagine a Twitter storm is brewing over this one.
